The Dimensional and Computational Metrology Laboratory (LMDC) originated from an expansion of the Dimensional Metrology Laboratory (LMD), implemented in the Mechanical Engineering Department of UFF in 1993.
LMDC focuses on teaching, research and technology for the industry and has a personnel training tradition. It has already trained numerous undergraduate and graduate students, being part of their projects, scientific works, monographs, master’s dissertations and doctoral theses. The laboratory performs applied research, involving undergraduate and graduate students. The main research field is metrology by image, which consists of the development of computer systems for the inspection and analysis of the most varied elements, considering computer vision techniques and metrological traceability.
